Acrylic and varnish on plaster

Whilst creating work for the Breathless Breastless exhibition I have inescapably been taken on my own emotional and psychological journey, finding myself immensely enlightened by the strength, determination, and faith of those confronting such an unjustifiable ordeal. Each of my artworks has evolved through a process of various working methods, surfacing in the form of sculpture, photography and installation. I primarily researched and carried out the end creation of my works independently, however throughout the process I found myself becoming attracted to situation based and collaborative process to assist in the development and emergence of the work itself. As a result collaborations began to take place with breast cancer survivors, fighters, friends and relatives, where volunteering of the body for casting and personal dialogue exchange began to influence and shape the work itself.
