I did this painting to reflect how I was feeling underneath my public image.

I hope it shows the starkness of being bald. This is how I really am. This is what I face every morning. This is how ugly I feel and how unfeminine I am. This is what the FEC-T chemo regime and steroids have done to me. This is what my loyal, adoring husband has to sleep beside.

I deliberately used cool tones for the painting as I felt these reflected the starkness more effectively. One side is brighter whilst the other is in the shade – and I’m going to come back from the dark into the light and live my life.
